After contacting Singer engineers for advice I ordered standard needles and spare metal bobbins for my recently purchased 1957 hand mechanism Vintage Singer sewing machine. All fit and work perfectly, thank you for your advice. Will now order needles for different fabrics recommended in the manual. G Owen, Swindon.

I have an old 185K. Stills works a treat, and revitalised with a new universal band. I have just finished another project fitted sofa cushions. Thank you for supplying old parts. I love my old machine and wasn’t ready to give up on her.

The lady who own the machine is 89 years old and has just moved back to UK from Portugal and she will be over the moon with this result, although a "cartwheel" may be out of the question.
