WIN with Singer Machines Ltd & Patrick Grant

Utility stitches like a regular straight, straight stretch, zig-zag, blind hemming, overlocking and buttonholes are accessed by direct button selection on the machine front panel. Other stitches can be set by bringing the stitch number into the LCD screen using the arrow buttons...quilting, heirloom, decorative, dressmaking and clothing repair stitches are all possible. For quilters, one particular stitch we like is the hand-sewn effect running stitch, often used on quilts. Free-motion is possible by lowering the feed dogs for decorative embroidery. Neat satin scallops or decorative star stitches are useful to the dressmaker, as are the two buttonhole styles for heavy or lightweight fabrics. Heirloom lovers will like the twin needle setting. A push of the button sets every stitch so it can be stitched out with a twin needle.

Stitches can be adjusted from the pre-sets that are used, in fact up to 7 mm wide. We like the hassle-free automatic thread tension setting, no need to worry about thread tensions any-more whilst using this Singer 7465 Confidence. Once set, it is ready to sew 90% of the materials available, without needing to adjust thread tensions.

Other things we have not mentioned, but together help make the Singer 7465 easy to work and live with, are the quick needle threader, one-touch reverse function, high foot lifter and snap-on presser feet. Singer makes a huge range of presser feet for all models as well as this 7465 and we stock them all. Ruffler's, pleater's and bias binders are all extra attachments. You may have seen these techniques being used to good effect on the recent Great British Sewing Bee TV series.

Singer have a long history and are very well known for manufacturing some fantastic machines. In fact, they have brought remarkable new ideas to market over the years. Not revolutionary, but good features like the thread end cutter on the needle plate. Once the bobbin is loaded, the thread end is cut off at the correct length and you are ready to start sewing. No more having to turn the handwheel 360 degrees to bring the lower bobbin thread to under the presser foot before starting to sew.

Key Features: Computerised with 50 stitches, Stitches are pre-programmed and ready to use, Auto needle threader and auto top thread tensions.

Having read the reviews for this machine, I was confident that it would be good and it certainly is. Not done a great deal with it yet but the wide range of stitches and the ease at which you can interchange is marvellous. Once I got the hang of the needle threader that was easy to do and it is nice to be able to see the bobbin whilst sewing so you know not to start big jobs and then run out of thread. Overall very happy with this machine. The delivery was just amazing. Ordered early afternoon and with me early the next morning. Just brilliant.

Having had my last sewing machine for sewing machine for 29 years, it was time for a change. Purchased this machine after reading many positive reviews. Had first session on it this afternoon and found it very pleasing to use. Instructions were easy to follow. Need more time on it now to fully appreciate all that it can do. My only disappointment is that it didn't include an overcast foot so had to order this separately and dust cover is very flimsy. Other than that, great machine and value for money.

Looks like a great multi functional machine, time will tell whether it will live up to its predecessor - my lovely Singer 706/726. So far, prefer the bobbin winding of the 706, but no doubt will get used to this new model and will learn to love it as much a the previous model. Superb service on sales and delivery, would highly recommend.

Having used an old worn out machine for years we decided to upgrade. My wife & I decided a lighter machine was required & to take in the new facilities of modern machines. So far this machine has passed all our expectations. After mastering the auto threader we found the stitch selection & auto tension a real bonus. Advice, delivery & service from this company has been outstanding. Keep the good work up.
