Why is this part called the "Apollo Bobbin Case" ? It uses special plastic orignally used in the apollo space rockets many years ago. It is used in selected Singer sewing machines. Free UK delivery on all orders over £30

Sometimes the original Apollo bobbin case was dark Grey in colour, but in newer sewing machines it was Black. Its easy to fit and easy to damage. If the apollo bobbin case is too loose or jumps out of position it will need replacing. It does wear out or it often gets damaged by the needle when it snaps...! so take care.
To fit, slide and lift off the needle plate, slide the bobbin case retaining clip out the way (to the left) and lift out the plastic case. Lay the new apollo case into place and move the retaining clip back into place.
