Singer 3342 Sewing Machine

The latest version righ here, Singer Fashion Mate 3342 offers new styling and innovative ideas.

Singer have added a new bobbin loading lay out, so when loading the bobbin, the system cuts the thread end so you are ready to sew a seam with out needing to bring the bobbin thread to the top.

Singer have aimed this Fashion Mate 3342 at beginner sewers. It does have the ability to handle thicker fabrics for curtains and decorative stitches for home decor and it offers quilting stitches and many other stitches one would use when tailoring a jacket.

Any one of the 32 stitches can be selected by turning the dial. Stitch length can also be customised for 11 of the stitches.

Scallop stitch is a decorative zig zag stitch tightly sewn together for effect and to help protect and finish off the edges of fine satin, silk and chiffon. 

Triple stitch is a fantastic stitch for those heavier projects...three stitches sewn on top of each other, both for reinforcement, as in top stitching and for appeal, as it gives a very thick vibrant stitch line for the eye to follow. 

Triple Zigzag stitch is used for flexible fabrics such as jersey. The stitch consists of thee diagonal stitches formed to make one half of a zigzag. Stretch the material almost to the point of tearing and the stitch will stretch with it. 

Overedge stitch is used to overlock and protect the edge of fabric that can fray easily. This will not replace the quality of the overlocker but it is a very good substitute. This machine has it.

Blind hem stitch is amazing. It is used for hemming curtains, trousers anything really that you want to keep hidden. It's a form of intermittent zig gag carefully measured to just catch enough fabric on the underside and revealing itself on the topside.
