Delivery was within 48 hours of placing the order. Instead of hacksawing the toothless gear boss, I used a mole grips to securely grip the old gear and then gently and with care tapped the hook through the gear boss. There was no pin evident on the boss. I fitted the new gear by following the tips kindly provided by the previous reviewers.

I found the hook gear quite simple to fit, but I did have to remove the centre part of the old gear which had disintegrated into many pieces. After I had carefully cut away the old centre, I placed the hook into a small polythene bag, and placed it in the freezer. I am lucky that I have a Rayburn cooker, so I could place the gear in the lower oven and warm it up. Once the parts were ready, about an hour, I quickly placed the the hook onto a brass block which supported the centre part only and then placed the new hot gear onto the end of the shaft. I then used a brass tube over the gear and tapped it down the shaft until it was tight down on the base. Simples.

Delivered within 48 hours, was the part required. Described as 'shrink fit', actually a press fit, quite easy. Getting the old gear off was more difficult, as there was a roll pin through the hook into the drive gear boss. Cut down through the boss with a junior hack saw, turn through 90 degrees and then cut again.Repeat once more and the bits should twist off.
