Singer 2273 Sewing Machine

I did a massive amount of research online before replacing my 40 year old Singer machine with this one. It has all the features I wanted at a superb price. I phoned the company on a Saturday, got a live expert who gave good advice, and was promised free delivery on a 24 hour service. Good machine, great value for money and an amazing service, together with TWO free gifts. I'm going to order some extra presser feet from these people - they sure do deserve to get all my future business.

What can I say...? Firstly, was delivered in less than 24 hours which was very impressive. Am really happy with the machine, looks good, sturdy, straight forward and is ideal for me. Having not threaded a sewing machine since I was 11 at school, so 23 years later, had bobbin wound and was ready to go within 5 mins, the needle threaded in about 10 seconds. The instruction book is really helpful with good diagrams in which if you follow you can't go wrong. Am very happy and would definitely recommend.

I have just received the 2273 as a welcome christmas upgrade from the 2263. It replaces a non-singer machine that I have had for many a year and which went up in smoke whilst I was using it the other day.

I realise now that I had forgotten or perhaps never really knew what you can achieve with a good machine. It didnt take too long to get it going once I had replaced the needle that had arrived bent and was soon creating beautiful seams. It was great not having to hold the threads at the start of the seam and the stitches were very even. I appreciate having a needle threader for those days it seams impossible to thread the needle without it.

It looks good and seems to be well made tho I think I might miss a hard cover.
I look forward to my next sewing project

First class machine. So easy to use, great results and the automatic needle threader is a brilliant addition. Saves the one-eyed aiming of the thread I'm used to. Lightweight enough to move and store easily yet robust enough to handle the heaviest materials. Whizzed through my pile of 'waiting to be sewn' items - now I'm looking for more I can do to play with the machine. Would highly recommend it. I've also bought the blind-hemming foot to use with this machine but haven't used it yet .. just looking for something to try it out on!

I am so happy with my new machine. I am a complete beginner and have found this machine so easy to thread and use. I love the automatic needle threader.
The instruction book is easy to follow and the machine runs like a dream !

I contacted singer by e.mail on several occasions and was delighted with their service and patience with my many questions.

I love this machine. Handsome to look at and straight forward to use. Not over gimmicky and does all you need it to. Recommended buy!!!!!

Fantastic! I am so pleased with this machine. It's easy to use, (not too fancy) does everything I need it to do. The one touch buttonhole is an amazing feature I've yet to use. It's light enough to lift up and set up, not noisy when using and just such a neat looking machine. I haven't yet worked out the automatic needle threading function but I'm sure I will with a couple more goes. Brilliant quality machine at a fantastic price. I'm well pleased with the machine and service from singer machines. Thank you.

I could not wait for my new sewing machine to arrive.It is easy to use and the instructions are easy to follow.It looks good and it feels good to use.However it did arrive with a broken bulb.It is fantastic for the price.This machine will work well in my part time buisness in dressmaking.

I am delighted with my new machine.
The quality, features, looks, packaging, instruction book, ease of use stitch options and time saving qualities are all excellent.
I have upgraded from a very ancient family heirloom Singer tredle machine (which still works perfectly).
It is wonderful to discover all the modern features available and is very easy to use once I got used to threading my new machine. I particularly love the automatic needle threader which saves struggling!

This was purchased as my first machine as a birthday present, and I find it really easy to use. I too agree that a heavier cover would be better for storage purposes. The 2273 is easy to use and the instruction book is clear and easy to follow. I would recommend this as a first machine to anyone.

I learned to sew on my moms Singer. This singer is almost identical (functionally) to her Singer which she purchased over 30 years ago (with more features, stitch designs, etc). Singer sewing machines are so logically designed - the mechanics are obviously proven to work if there are so few changes over the span of 30 years!

Im very happy with the 2273. Id have given it 5 stars if the picture in the manual showed how to load the bobbin a little bit better.

I sew for a living and have finally run my old faithful 20+year old singers to death.

I wanted a heavy, solid machine with just the basic stitches and the 2273 seems to fit the bill, with a few add ons. I like the disengage switch on the handwheel for bobbin winding, the decorative stretch stitches and the one step button hole function which seems to work best on heavier fabric.
My one complaint so far is that the curved shape below the flat bed means the machine tilts if you apply too much pressure feeding fabric through. It will be used constantly and time will tell if it is up to the job.

I did phone for advice and must say I am very satisfied with the level of service from this site.
