I had to have my machine re-aligned as since purchase I could never get the tension right and the bobbin would shoot out of its casing and disrupt the housing. I have had a specialist set it up and it w
appears to be ok. But, I do not have a hand book and wonder if one is available as I have no idea how to change stitch lengths etc do buttonholes etc etc! Help please!

I purchased this machine as I always wanted a Singer. Had a Brother machine for 30 years which dressed the nation and did all the soft furnishings in my house!
I am very disappointed with the 118 - the black plastic bobbin casing keeps moving out of the socket. A lovely lady in the Singer machine centre in the UK sent me a new casing but this is now slipping out of the socket. Until this happened I was thrilled with the machine, but now have to purchase again as guarantee was only for 1 year

i am very pleased with the service and next day delivery of the machine and have to say that Ian was very helpful on the phone because i have old crones disease and many consider ne a wicked witch.

having never used a sewing machine before i took my mothers advice who has used singer for over 45 years. i could get started straight away as it's so easy to use and within a month had made curtains, tablecloth & napkins plus adjusted many clothes that had been in my 'to be dealt with later' pile. amazing, sturdy but lightweight. my friend has now bought one too after seeing mine!

I chose the Featherweight to replace my 30year old straight stitch model feeling overwhelmed by the wide variety of machines on offer- but this one is so simple to operate and extremely sturdy despite its compact size.The excellent instruction book has guided me through the range of stitches available.
I love the needle threader too!!

This machine is so light and easy to move around, which is the main reason for my purchase of this model, but really surprised to find how lightweight it really is. I am very pleased with the features, I am not a big sewer so this is ideal for me. I have just made some new curtains and I am happy with the results. I chose a Singer machine as my old one was a Singer, which has now had it's day and was extremely heavy.

I haven't used all the features yet but currently I am very satisfied with my purchase. I am disappointed that the machine did not come complete with carrying case.

It is nice and compact.It is very light weight,which is good for me because I have Arthritis of my spine.
